Redefining Secure Wireless Access in the Small/Medium Business Market
Juniper's NetScreen 5GT Wireless
Juniper Networks breaks new ground in the Small/Medium Business market combining a full-featured firewall with a secure wireless access point. The NetScreen 5GT Wireless is targeted at remote sites or small offices that require a compact,
robust, and flexible solution without making any compromises on wireless performance or security. The unit includes a standard NetScreen 5GT firewall, 802.11b/g radio, and support for up to 4 different wireless LANs with different authentication and encryption configurations. The 5GT wireless supports WEP, 802.11i-WPAv2, IPSEC/AES, 802.1x, EAP, PEAP, and TLS authentication and encryption protocols making it an extremely flexible unit able to work with older protocols as well as the newest and most secure protocols.
The diagram shown below is an example of a deployed 5GT wireless. There areseparate zones configured with different levels of corporate network access for each zone. By segmenting users in these zones, security policies can be configured for each
zone governing access to corporate resources and other wireless devices. In the model shown below, "Wireless Zone 1" has web access and corporate email access consultants or commuting users which will be using WPA-PSK. "Wireless Zone 2" only
has web access for visitors using WEP. The "Trusted Zone" gives users full access to resources as if they were part of the wired portion of the network. The Trusted Zone uses the 802.1x authentication with WPA to ensure the highest level of security.

The 5GT wireless is not intended to replace an enterprise level wireless switch deployed in locations where access point roaming would occur. It is ideal for small offices or remote installations requiring only one access point. Call us to see how it can benefit your organization.
